A native of the Central Coast, Sensei Ryan first discovered his passion for Aikido under the instruction of Sensei Stephen Steger (RokuDan, sixth-degree black belt) of Full Circle Aikido, Grover Beach. Ryan not only found himself experiencing far less fear and anxiety in his life, but also a heightened sense of purpose and ease. Wishing to pass on the benefits of Aikido to others Ryan was accepted as a formal apprentice under Sensei Steger, ultimately leading to his instructor certification. Sensei Ryan has been a full time student of Aikido for over 20 years, and a dojocho for over a decade. He currently holds the rank of Yondan (4th degree black belt) and teaches both adult and kids classes with an emphasis on an enlivening, friendly, and empowering training environment. In addition to his Aikido experience Ryan holds a Bachelors degree in Philosophy from Cal Poly, as well as being an amateur astronomer, husband, and father.
